In 1935 photographer Berenice Abbott was hired by the Federal Art Project to work on their "Changing New York" project. The results, in stunning photographic form, are potent images of everyday life in New York City from 1935-1938. We owe her, and the WPA programs a debt of gratitude for this extraordinary record.
